Level: This class is for beginners and students with previous drawing experience.
What to expect: You will learn the basic principles of value and composition based on various subjects of Maine’s natural environment including flowering and non-flowering plants, details of trees, branches, bark, leaves, wooded landscapes with some wildlife as a bonus. Graphite, charcoal, and ink will be used in class, but adding color will be encouraged. You will have the opportunity to explore the following techniques
Cross-hatching
Shading & blending
Blind contour drawing
Gesture drawing
Meditative exercises will help minimize inhibitions and fears associated with the creative process. When the class is determined to run, a supply list will be provided.
