Plein-Air Oil Painting, Saturdays, 7/26-8/23

When: Saturdays, 10 am-12 pm, July 26th-August 23rd

5 classes

Location: Classes will take place in the Portland area, location TBD ( such as Casco Bay Community Gardens, Gilsland Farm, or Evergreen Cemetery)

Level: Beginner-Advanced

What To Expect: In this class, you will learn the basics of landscape oil painting in a beautiful Portland-area outdoor location. You can expect that each class will consist of the following:

  • Basic setup for plein-air painting, including the easels, paint, and other supplies.

  • A short painting demo.

  • One-on-one support from me, the instructor.

You can expect to gain an understanding of

  • Color Mixing

  • Applying paint

  • Composition and value

    Mindfulness tools will be used to help minimize inhibitions during the creative process, and a group critique will take place at the end of the last class.

    The supplies list will be sent prior to the start of class,

    This session will include a class at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth. Thefee is $5 for Maine residents under 65.

    If a Sunday makeup class is not possible outdoors due to the weather, then it will be held online or at the Portland New Church if available for use.
