What to Expect: In this workshop, learn how to paint clouds based on a photo. This workshop is designed for the beginner who wants to learn how to capture light and shadowing to create the effect of clouds.

The first part of the workshop will entail gesture painting, learning how to be loose and free with your brushwork. You will have the opportunity to explore the following techniques:

  • Impasto

  • Scraping

  • Staining

  • Gesture painting for developing the basic composition. The second part will give you the opportunity to break down the compostion in shapes of lights and shadows to build form and textural elements.

An oil painting supply list (solvent-free) will be provided after registering. Students are welcome to use acrylic if preferred.
