What to Expect: In this workshop, learn how to paint clouds based on a photo. This workshop is designed for the beginner who wants to learn how to capture light and shadowing to create the effect of clouds.
The first part of the workshop will entail gesture painting, learning how to be loose and free with your brushwork, establishing a basic composition. The second part will give you the opportunity to break down the compostion in shapes of lights and shadows to develop form and textural elements.
You will have the opportunity to experiment with the following techniques.
Impasto
Scraping
Staining
Gestural painting
An oil painting supply list (solvent-free) will be provided after registering. Students are welcome to use acrylic if preferred.
