Introductory Private Painting Session, 2 hours, Any Medium

This 2 Hour Introductory Session is for first-time students of any medium. You do not need to have a background in making art. Mediums can include but are not limited to: oil, watercolor, pastel, and drawing.

This session will include but is not limited to:

• a demonstration from me
  

• honing in on your specific needs and level of painting
  

• handling of brushes and materials
  

• brush stroke on canvas or different drawing techniques, for example
  

My objective as your teacher is to cater to your needs. As we start, I’d like to spend this time learning about how you approach your art. We may practice mindfulness techniques to focus on the breath to reach the ideal state of mind for approaching your work. By the time you leave, you will be enlightened about the love of creating art.

If you want to brush up on or build upon previous knowledge, this session is an excellent place to start.

Q & A:

1.Do I need to have any prior experience?

No, you do not need prior experience. I welcome students of any background.

2. How effective is Zoom for one on one instruction?

I will be using a second device (an iPad) for closeups of what I’m demonstrating so you will see exactly what I’m sharing. Lighting and angles can be adjusted as needed. To make up for slight color differences with the camera, I will be describing the exact mixtures of color pertaining to values as well.

3. Can a session be recorded?

Yes.

4. Can I cancel a class?

Yes, though I ask for 24 hours in advance notice.

6. Can I have instruction in any medium?

Instruction is open to oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and all drawing mediums. Please inquire if there is any question about a specific medium.

After we schedule your introductory session, we will arrange a 15-minute call by Zoom or phone. We will discuss what materials to bring to the session and your expectations for the class.
