Plein-Air Oil Painting, Introduction, Group Class Series, 5/25 - 6/22
When: Saturdays, 10 am-12 pm, May 25th - June 22nd; 5 classes
Location: Classes will take place in the Portland area, location TBD ( such as Casco Bay Community Gardens, Southern Maine Community College campus, or Evergreen Cemetery)
Level: Beginner painters, but open to those with previous experience as well
What To Expect: In this introduction to plein-air oil painting class, you will learn the basics of landscape oil painting in a beautiful Portland-area outdoor location.
You can expect that each class will consist of the following:
Basic setup for plein-air painting, including the easels, paint, and other supplies.
A short painting demo.
One-on-one support from me, the instructor.
You can expect to gain an understanding of
Color mixing
Applying paint
Composition and value
Mindfulness tools will be used to help minimize inhibitions during the creative process, and a group critique will take place at the end of the last class.
The supplies list will be sent prior to the start of class, and if a make-up class cannot occur outside due to weather, it will be held via Zoom.
